Sleep Apnea Relief

Posted .

Sleep apnea can have a serious negative impact on your sleep and overall quality of life. Snoring issues, sinus problems and interrupted or poor quality sleep are all common side effects of sleep apnea. Fortunately, there are few different treatment options available. Finding the one that will adequately provide you relief from your sleep apnea problems will vary depending on your personal preference and the severity of your sleep apnea. It’s important to have your sleep apnea properly diagnosed so your physician can best help you find the treatment option that best for you.

If you suffer from severe sleep apnea you might need to sleep with positive pressure treatment device known as a CPAP machine to effectively find relief from sleep apnea symptoms. If you have mild to moderate sleep apnea, then your symptoms could be vastly improved by using a snore guard when you sleep at night.

Mandibular advancement device snore guards, come in a variety of designs. Most of these snore guards attach to your teeth and many of them hinge together. This helps to hold your mouth in the ideal position to allow easy passage of air and mitigate the effects of snoring.

Each morning you should clean and refresh the snore guard by rinsing it under running water and then brushing it with a soft bristled toothbrush and nonabrasive toothpaste. Make sure to brush around the hinges to clear away plaque and bacteria.

You should then dry the snore guard with a clean paper towel and store it in a safe place in the case provided.
